The season also closed with major individual recognition, with Simonton named Women’s Shotgun Athlete of the Year and Hancock named Men’s Shotgun Athlete of the Year.

Team USA’s results were reinforced by year-end world rankings that reflect performance across the full international calendar. The United States finished 2025 holding the No. 1 world ranking in three of the four Olympic shotgun events, including Will Hinton (Men’s Trap), Christian Elliott (Men’s Skeet), and Samantha Simonton (Women’s Skeet), with additional athletes ranked among the world’s best across both disciplines.

Team USA’s success also extended through the development pipeline. Junior athletes earned medals at international events and secured qualification positions (quota slots) for upcoming Games pathways, reflecting sustained depth across the roster and long-term momentum toward LA28.

“2025 reflects what disciplined investment and high standards produce,” said Kelly Reisdorf, CEO of USA Shooting. “Our athletes competed with excellence, represented the United States with credibility on the world stage, and delivered results that confirm the direction of the program.
